Encyclopaedia Grove Music Online is one of the primary resources for the study of music.
It is made available as part of the music industry gateway Oxford Music Online and is based on the second edition of the 29-volume 2001 encyclopaedia The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. The resource also includes other encyclopaedic publications on music produced by Oxford University Press. The resource interface offers the standard full-text content search and browsing and searching entries by various criteria (biographies, subject entries, etc.), timelines, guides to individual periods of music history and other topics (Women in Music), and musical samples. Entries are continuously updated, and new ones are continually added.
