Mgr. Zuzana Pavelková Čevelová, Ph.D.

Zuzana Pavelková Čevelová is a graduate of the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Theology University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, where she studied history, theology, and pedagogy. She obtained her PhD in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Milena Lenderová, Ph.D., in the field of historiography. As a historian, her focus is on the history of everyday life in the 19th century and gender history, specifically on the history of marriage and church sources. She was employed as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Pardubice, and she also gained experience in leading scientific and development projects. She was a co-researcher in a number of research projects.

In 2024, she joined the National Library of the Czech Republic as the Director of the Office of the Director General. Her portfolio focuses on strengthening internal communication and liaising with state institutions; she is responsible for the archival service, and the legal department also falls under her remit. She supports the functioning of other departments and works closely with the press secretary, the Deputy Director for Science, Research and International Relations, and the Human Resources Department.
