The list of out-of-commerce works is a database of records of accessible digitized copies of monographs and periodicals that meet the criteria for unavailability on the book market.
The application creates a list of works published in the Czech Republic under the Copyright Act (Section 97(f)), unavailable on the book market except in antiquarian bookshops. It serves libraries to create suggestions for inclusion in the list and curators to manage and discard works based on the request of the rights holder, based on the availability of works on the market or the expiration of copyrights. The records are also submitted for publication on the Out-of-Commerce Works Portal set up and managed by the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The National Digital Library can then offer the full texts of the digitised documents listed in the Out-of-Commerce Works segment.
