Christian of Prachatice (died in 1439) belonged to a group of conservative Prague university masters, who devoted himself to nature science (medicine, astronomy and mathematisc). He owned one of the largest personal library collections in medieval Bohemia (151 shelfmarks have been preserved). An extensive part of it consisted of sermons and literature dedicated to priestly work, quite numerous were writings of the Church Fathers and works from the field of natural sciences, and there were also texts from many other fields. The analysis of Christian´s library itself and in the context of the medieval libraries of other masters of Prague University is accompanied by a detailed codicoligical description of thirty five manuscripts that have been identified from his library so far.
