Cooperation between the National Library of the Czech Republic and the National Library of Latvia is rooted in a long-standing tradition and close professional ties, which continue to flourish today.
In early September, the National Library of the Czech Republic welcomed a delegation from the National Library of Latvia. Over the course of several days, our guests were introduced to the Library’s scientific and research projects, particularly in the fields of preservation, management, and digitization of library collections. A significant part of the program was also devoted to presentations focusing on historical and musical collections as well as the activities of the Slavonic Library. Discussions further explored opportunities for future cooperation, especially on joint projects aimed at safeguarding cultural heritage in times of war and disasters linked to global climate change.
The meetings took place in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere, reflecting the keen interest of our Latvian colleagues in the results presented and opening the door to further joint initiatives.
