The NLCR and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Prague are continuing their long-standing mutual contacts and cooperation.
During a meeting between H.E. Snøfrid Byrløkken Emterud and Tomáš Foltýn, Director General of the NLCR, held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Klementinum, discussions focused on - among other topics - existing NLCR projects supported by the Norway Grants / EEA Grants mechanism. These projects have contributed to initiatives such as the digitization of 19th-century monographs threatened by paper degradation, provenance research on documents linked to World War II events (including the identification of their original owners), and other activities.
The discussion also highlighted joint exhibition projects commemorating milestones such as the establishment of the Norwegian diplomatic mission in Prague, as well as other collaborative ties. However, the conversation looked beyond the past. It also addressed new funding opportunities under the Norway Grants, potential cooperation between the two countries' national libraries, initiatives to support literature and book culture in both nations, and the exchange of experience regarding the strengthening of public resilience and information literacy.
The NLCR thanks H.E. Snøfrid Byrløkken Emterud for her visit and looks forward to future cooperation.
