The collection consists of contributions devoted to the personality of Jan Lego (1833-1906), who played an important part in the development of Czech-Slovenian cultural relations. As a national revivalist, he was instrumental in establishing Slovenian national cultural institutions, was the first to translate a Czech text into the Slovene language (Grandmother by Božena Němcová) and reported on Slovenia in Czech newspapers (Světozor, Zlatá Praha). He was the author of a Slovene grammar for Czechs, as well as the first guide to Slovenia. The colloquium was organised by the Slavonic Library and the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts (Charles University in Prague). Students and professors of the Slovene language at the faculty also contributed to the catalogue.

A selected bibliography of the works by K. Capek and the literature about him provides us with the most comprehensive selection of literature on the life and work of K. Capek (the bibliography in Russian is almost complete). Collection of 180 titles of periodicals published by Russian and Ukrainian emigrants on the territory of the between wars Czechoslovakia during 1918-1945 transferred into the digital form. Periodicals are divided in each series into 5 thematic groups:

1) periodicals of political parties, organizations and movements
2) periodicals of associations, unions, commissions and committees
3) periodicals of pedagogical, scholastic and scientific institutions and organizations
4) student and youth periodicals
5) mixed content periodicals, social-political, cultural-edification, economical and military

103 periodicals from around 200 published by Ukrainian emigrants and 77 periodicals from 200 published by Russian emigrants were chosen for digital processing. Selection was made by several aspects: to preserve unique titles (periodicals published for a short term or irregularly) and preserve these periodicals which would come under destruction in the original form anyway.

The whole set of DC-R is not for sale. In accordance with the Copyright Act ( Act No. 121/2001 Coll.) the distribution of only 60 titles is allowed. We will make CD-R from them by your choice.

Price for 1 CD-R: 89,34 CZK + 0,30 CZK for an each page. The price does not include the postage.

Also presented is the story behind Museum of the Liberation Struggle in Prague and its build-up of a fine arts collection, which now forms part of the Slavonic Library’s holdings. The book was published thanks to a financial support from Shevchenko's Scientific Society in America.
